Hey there!
I’m Kerrie, the semi professional goofball behind Viva La Buttercream! My husband and I live in the south western Sydney suburbs with our two boys (teenagers now 😱) and our cat, Chicken.
We grow a whole stack of food in our front yard veggie garden, and we’re only on small suburban block, so don’t think you need a big plot of land to grow your own food! I homeschool our younger son, so I also enjoy squeezing lots of quality time and learning into our day.
I’m also a practising Witch of 25 years, an avid reader, crafter, and lover of baking and cooking. I also collect Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters, and have an unhealthy obsession with computer keyboards. I’m a cornucopia of interests.
I have multiple chronic illnesses including Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), a connective tissue disorder in the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome family, as well as mast cell activation disorder (MCAD), and a host of other trimmings like fibromyalgia, migraine, severe allergic asthma, and neurodivergence to name a few! 😵💫
As a professional Cake Artist and Teacher, I have featured in American Cake Decorating, Cake! Magazine, Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft Magazine, as well as taught and demonstrated at Cake Shows here and in the US.
I have a creative streak a mile wide, which sometimes includes cake, sometimes totally random fixations, and ALWAYS shenanigans.
